Experienced MEP engineers, HVAC and plumbing CAD designers and technicians.

Upon acceptance of the quotation and signature of the training contract.

Prerequisite

Current working knowledge of AUTOCAD or similar CAD package, of Microsoft Windows and of using the internet.

700€ ex. taxes for 1 person per session only, by video conference with an instructor.

Objectives

3D modelling of building services networks and using the 3D model in Revit with RVT-Connect

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Generate floor plan backgrounds and floor levels from Revit
  • Set up project levels
  • Set conduit elevations and network invert levels
  • Model air distribution, water and gravity drainage networks
  • Connect 3D conduits between floors
  • Insert equipment from a library into a 3D network
  • Create snapshots of 3D views
  • Export 3D networks in DWG and IFC formats
  • Integrate and update 3D networks in the Revit model

Preparing 2D networks

  • Identify the routes of networks drawn with AUTOFLUID

Levels in AUTOFLUID

  • Export floor plan backgrounds and floor levels from the Revit model using RVT-Connect
  • Set up and select building levels
  • Import Revit model levels using RVT-Connect
  • Manage levels within a floor
  • Quickly set conduit and equipment elevations
  • Enter an elevation using the keyboard
  • Retrieve or assign an elevation from an existing network
  • Find an elevation relative to an architectural or network element
  • Position an inclined conduit
  • Set the invert level of gravity drainage networks.

3D Modelling

  • Modelling air distribution and gravity drainage networks
  • Modelling a pipe assembly from a cross-section drawing
  • Modelling the building architecture
  • Connecting networks between floors
  • Inserting 3D equipment blocks from libraries into the model: preparing and positioning the block on the network.

Using the 3D model

  • Create 3D snapshots and insert them into presentations
  • Manage different parts of the 3D model for IFC or DWG export
  • Insert IFC networks into the Revit model using RVT-Connect
  • Modify the 3D network after integrating it into the model.
