Current working knowledge of AUTOCAD or similar CAD package, of Microsoft Windows and of using the internet.

Objectives
3D modelling of building services networks for visualisation:
Trainees will learn how to:
- Set up project levels
- Identify AUTOFLUID 2D conduit and bend types
- Set conduit elevations and network invert levels
- Model air distribution, water and gravity drainage networks
- Connect 3D conduits between floors
- Insert equipment from a library into a 3D network
- Create snapshots of 3D views
- Export models in DWG and IFC formats.

Preparing 2D networks
- Understanding the structure of AUTOFLUID conduits (single-line, piping arrays, manifold water distribution systems, double-line rectangular and circular, smoke extraction)
- Inspecting and repairing an AUTOFLUID network section
- Routing with precise network positioning
- Understanding key terms: branch and propagate
Levels in AUTOFLUID
- Setting up and selecting building levels
- Managing levels within a floor
- Quickly setting conduit and equipment elevation
- Entering an elevation using the keyboard
- Retrieving or assigning an elevation from an existing network
- Finding an elevation relative to an architectural or network element
- Positioning an inclined conduit
- Setting the invert level of gravity-flow networks.
3D Modelling
- Modelling air distribution and gravity drainage networks
- Modelling a pipe assembly from a side view drawing
- Modelling the building architecture
- Connecting networks between floors
- Inserting 3D equipment blocks from libraries into the model.
Using your 3D model
- Create 3D snapshots and insert them into presentations.
- Manage different parts of the 3D model for IFC or DWG export.
Methods and teaching resources
Hands on learning with demonstrations.
Use of the software on concrete cases.
All necessary AUTOFLUID applications are provided for the training.
